One of my passions whilst shooting abroad is to photograph Barbers or Hairdressers. A fascination after working for National magazines and hairdressers in the UK. I became interested in the cultural side of hairdressing. It doesn't matter where you go on this planet you will always find someone to do your cut and blow. These images depict a very different side to some of the over inflated, self important egos there are in the world of hairdressing back home.
Spanning a few years these images were shot on digital and film with some literally shot as I drove past. I never bothered with tripods, lighting or setting up the shot. If the owner wanted to pose in his shop then that's what would happen. The images represent that one moment in time.
